Circulatory System

Posted in Circulatory System, Organ Systems at 11:14 am by philippineeagleowl

Owls are part of the Avian group, so owls have the same circulatory system as other birds.

  • It has a closed circulatory system.
  • It has one heart.
  • It has four chambers. (2 atria, 2 ventricles)
  • Owls have larger hearts than mammals (relative to body size and mass), this is so because in flight there is a high metabolic demand.
